Why?

For some reason..I can't get the picture any bigger...but in the 1st picture- there is a guy saying "Lord protect me" and then gets up to walk away and a pebble pelts him in the back of the head. He then starts screaming "WHY ME???"- then ultimately looks up to see that all of the BIG rocks that could be hitting him are being blocked my the infinate Grace of God. Jesus turns around in the last picture saying, "Are you alright, I might have missed a small piece."
I believe though, that He means to miss that small peice, because my God does not make mistakes!
Sometimes we understand a message when it is simply illustrated...

...and you question God - 'why me?'....always look at the bigger picture....

What a beautiful picture of God's love. He is always our protector, even when you feel like your world is crumbling around you, you never can see the BIG rocks that could be falling on you without the Grace of God. He is our sheild.

2 weeks of ....

For those of you that do not know, Cal is about to start his 3rd year as a resident at UAB. Our finalized rank list went into the computer last night! The rank list is for a fellowship in Cardiology. It is alot like sorority rush, for those of you familiar with the process. Cal ranks his top choices 1-8, and the hospitals rank thier top choices. Then, you just have to keep your fingers crossed that the hospital that you ranked number 1 also ranks you number 1!!! We know that at this point it doesn't matter what we put or what we have done, God already has it all planned out. HE already knows where He wants us for the next 4 years of our lives. We are putting our trust in HIM! We find out on June 17! (which is also our 3rd year anniversary)

Pictureless....

I really don't like doing a picture-less post- but I just haven't been home long enough to upload the pictures from our camera in a while!
Here is a Laney update of what has been going on lately...because I LOVE a list:

1. Chuck and Suzan (Cal's parents) came in town last weekend- They went to Shoal Creek, while I monogrammed, went to my friend Leah's little girl's first birthday party, and went to style Caroline's hair for her jazz recital. Caroline was in my class last year!

2. That night, we went to dinner at The Highland Bar and Grille with Cal's parents and some friends, then headed over to Beth's wedding at Ted's Garage. After the wedding, we went to the Blue Monkey with some friends that I teach with and had a great time!

3. I started teaching summer school on Monday and Cal started a new month's rotation at the hospital.

4. Cal and I finalized his rank order list for cardiology fellowship- so we now have officially 2 weeks to wait and find out IF or where we will be moving next summer. Keep your fingers crossed!

I am teaching summer school as speak.... it is obviously VERY demanding... for me to be able to blog and all while teaching...haha! We are doing "traditional" Kindergarten things at the moment: the good ole stuff like paint, play do, puppets, blocks, puzzles, etc. I am about to go start reading block...so I better get off of this computer! Have a great Wednesday!!!
